Like Us are here to stay. They sing about their own stories, proving that it’s worth fighting for your dreams. Four different personalities united in a unique project – making music that makes a difference.
Francisco is 15, David and Daniel are 17 and João is 18. They go to school, run around, play football, spend hours on the internet, play, sing, relax and watch TV and action movies. In their essence, they’re four perfectly normal boys, but only a few have so much ambition and love for music.
“You Mean the World to Me” is their first single and it’s in fact a breath of fresh air. Irresistible teen pop with a unique approach. They stand out because they don’t want to be the flavor of the week. They’re here to stay.
“Longe”, Like Us’s second single is much more guitar-driven. Four teens venturing into rock? Why not? If their influences are quite varied, then that also comes to play in their songs, that go in different directions but that makes Like Us the band that now shows itself to the world.
If you ask them who their idols are, which musicians inspire them the most, the answers will surely be sparse, but it’s that diversity that also brings something very special to the music scene.
None of these experiences they’re now living would be possible was it not for a long time coming passion. David says that he was born singing ‘Ever since I was in my mother’s womb’. João, Daniel and Francisco aren’t any different. Daniel is even described by his bandmates as the ‘music-freak’ of the band, always carrying a guitar with him.
It’s been months since they’ve been working really hard for this project and if there’s something they’re not short of is ambition and dreams. ‘Every time we’re singing I imagine us at Meo Arena’, reveals Daniel. Francisco states that he’s ‘anxious to be onstage’ and finally presenting the outcome of so much effort.
There was always ‘a lot of excitement’ in studio and even when they weren’t recording they never stopped singing and playing together. Now they’re ready to go onstage and show the audience that they’re just a band of boys next door, but with a lot of determination to make this dream come true. Dare to dream along with them. Like Us.
